My  background  and  testimonies.

I was born to musician's family in Poland. My father was both, a classical and jazz performing double bassist and mother taught the violin at the music conservatory to which later, at the age of 7 I was accepted. There I attended both, junior and senior levels. After 12 years, upon completion, I attended Conservatory of Music, finishing my total education spanning 16 years.

After migrating to Australia in 1981, I was the very first to be granted a full scholarship for the membership of the student orchestra, The ABC Symphonia, in Sydney. This move, however, was not purposed for further education of my violin skills, but to integrate me into Australian music scene as soon as possible and teach me the use of the English language, quickly.

This need to be among like-minded people was recognized by the Australian Broadcasting Commission and for this gesture, I have been forever grateful, as indeed it worked.

My Australian career now spans over 39 years and it includes:

* work for the ABC, starting with the scholarship for ABC Symphonia (1982)- under the baton of Wilfred Lehmann.

* The Sydney Symphony  Orchestra(1983) - under the baton of Sir Charles Mackerras

* Queensland Theatre Orchestra - under the baton of Georg Tintner.

* The Melbourne Philharmonic Orchestra (1983-1984) - Under the baton of Paul Coppens.

* The West Australian Symphony Orchestra (1985-1996) - under the baton of Albert Rosen, Jerge Mester, Vernon Handley, Vladimir Verbitsky and many more.

In WA, I also learned the discipline of yacht sailing ⛵️and to catch big fish.🐠

After many years of stage performances, radio/film recordings, workshops, summer schools in Australia and overseas,

I opened a private studio as teaching violin became my passion.

Over many years I have also been involved in instrumental teaching through The Department of Education in Queensland, teaching the violin in a variety of schools of all levels, following schools’ curriculums as well as designing and developing new programs for private-independent educational institutions.

Here is what students, parents and colleagues  say:

I was lucky to find Hanna for my daughter's violin teacher. It's been nearly 3 years since my daughter has started her lesson with Hanna.
Hanna is one of a rare super enthusiastic musician to give her all the energy and passion thrown into her lessons.

I am a music lover, playing piano and violin as a hobby. I know a lot of other music teachers in town as my kids were engaged with music lessons here and there.

I can tell how Hanna is different and unique when she brings music into lessons and even into our lives.
Most of all, my daughter loves her lessons and I am happy that Hanna is the right one for my daughter. Hanna has excellent skills to approach kids, very individualised to bring out each individual's capacity.

If anyone wants to learn music from Hanna, they would experience a golden treasure.

Our daughter, who has been learning violin for a few years now, recently started violin lessons with Ms. Kaminska.  We are absolutely delighted with the lessons. Hanna’s experience and skill with the violin, not only shines during her violin lessons but also her experience as a teacher and a mentor as well. She effectively teaches the finer skills of violin bowing techniques through her clear and logical explanations.  She also gives a lot of care and attention to detail, addressing areas requiring specific improvement.  Our daughter appreciates Hanna's lovely, calm and cheerful personality which makes violin lessons, in her cozy living room with Tilly her friendly cat, a most pleasant experience.  We have noticed significant advancement in our daughter’s violin playing, after these few months with Hanna, and highly recommend Hanna to any student interested in learning the violin.

Hanna is a brilliant and knowledgeable teacher.
As someone in my 20s, I was very nervous and worried I wouldn't be able to pick up the violin at all. Hanna worked with me in a patient manner by identifying key points for me to focus on during my home practice and was always able to answer any questions I had. She often gave me specific exercises to work on instead of a generic guide and these I found benefited me greatly. In the initial three months, Hanna helped me appreciate what it means to learn the violin. I would happily recommend Hanna's expert teaching to anyone of any skill level or age.

I have had the privilege of knowing Hanna Kaminska for 5 years. During that time, I have been overwhelmed by her infectious enthusiasm and zest for life.  In 2005, Hanna was elected State President for the Australian Strings Association (North Queensland branch) and organized workshops, masterclasses and competitions for the community. She was also invited by prof. Peter Zhang to conduct a series of workshops in China after having been involved with the Australian String Academy in Sydney. Having worked closely with Hanna, accompanying her students and having her teach my own daughter, I have found her to be caring, dedicated teacher, who takes a personal interest in her students.

I am delighted to write this letter recommending Hanna Kaminska.

I have known Ms. Kaminska since January of 2005. We were colleagues at the Australian String Academy.

I there had the opportunity of both hearing Ms. Kaminska and seeing her teach.

She has a rare gift for teaching and I would consider her to be a first-rate violinist as well.

Her experience with both the solo materials as well as orchestral repertoire puts her in an excellent position to be highly successful in this highly competitive field.

There is no question that she is outstanding teacher and professional. Her work with young people is especially noteworthy and rare these days.

I first met Miss Kaminska when I visited Perth to conduct concerts with the West Australian Symphony Orchestra. This was during the 1980's and early 1990's. Since then I have got to know her as a very capable and valued teacher of violin in North Queensland.

In my capacity as a professional conductor and Professional Fellow of the University of Melbourne, I can confirm that Hanna Kaminska exhibits a high standard of a professional performer and teacher.
